It is conformed that Ilayathalapathy Vijay will play the role of Rancho in the Tamil version which was originally played by Aamir Khan. Gemini Film Circuit has bought the Telugu and Tamil remake rights of Rajkumar Hirani directed 3 Idiots from Vidhu Vinodh Chopra recently.There are few reports saying Vijay loved 3 Idiots and agreed to do it without any change in the story.
Director Shankar is going to direct the movie and Harris jayaraj is going to score music for both tamil and telugu version of 3idiots.
